Diesel Mechanic/Generator Technician

Salary Range: $35-43/hr

Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair problems with trucks, trailers, generators and other equipment
Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers and generators
Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, power supplies, instrumentation, gauges and test equipment
Work on diesel and gasoline engines, as well as other equipment
Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical team members, informing appropriate managers of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved
Maintain a clean and safe shop work environment
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years diesel mechanic experience
- Passion for innovation and technology in the diesel engine industry
- Experience with semi-truck repair
- Technical school preferred
- Must own adequate tools
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language
- Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills
Priority consideration for Mechanics with:
- Some fabrication experience
- Some generator technician experience
- Electrical experience
- ASE certifications
- Trade School
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The noise level in the work environment is typical of a warehouse/shop and is usually moderate to loud.
Movements including but not limited to prolonged periods of standing and walking, lifting, bending, reaching, kneeling, etc.
Regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; talk; see; and/or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
This job may require working evenings, weekends, and outdoors, including being on-call. It may also include travel out of state on occasion.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at all times.
